Hello My Blog Followers, I am sorry it has been a while.   It is the end of the semester and things are moving at a busy pace.   It is hard to buy out time to share information. I thought I would take some time and tell you what is coming down the road for the blogs and the information I present. The first is I am hoping to display some of the activities of my students from this semester: Microcomputer Systems and Network and Security Protocols. Microcomputer Systems is based on the CompTIA A+ information.   I have my students’ doing videos on the different subjects that we cover in that class. If I get their permission to publish, I will share that with my followers. The Network and Security Protocols consists of seventh semester Bachelor students and three Master level students.   All of them are going to be making videos on High-Speed networking.   Today’s technology is looking at making it standard to have at least ten gigs for data collecting and other technologies that

I want to welcome technology enthusiasts. Thank you for visiting my blog. I saw something that moved me enough to write a post. I got in my work email an item from D-Wave. As anyone that has followed my blog knows, that company is one that inspires me and that proves to me Quantum Computing is a reality. That it is just a matter of time, and everyone will be using Quantum in one way or another.   The pdf is titled “ How Quantum Can Fuel Operational Excellence Today ” .  It is free. The website will ask for a name and an email address but giving them information to get hold of the material is well worth it. That type of information on anyone is easy to find on the internet anyhow.   The second thing that happened this week will take some background information in order to understand the story.  I live in Western New York. Chuck Schumer is a New York Senator working in Washington D.C. I have heard him speak at my bachelor graduation ceremony at Alfred State College. Senator Schumer

October 7, 2023 - Saturday Morning Thoughts and Discoveries

My morning time at home is precious to me. I get to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee. My family has cats and a dog, I like spending time with them as well. This Saturday was no exception. During that time of “Waking Up,” I think about the day and what needs to get done.  It finally got to be time to start my day, I started booting up my computer.  Anyone that knows me realizes that is entirely normal.  The Microsoft feed gets its turn to be initialized and the following headline pops up, “ Quantum computers are fast becoming cheaper and smaller - and they could be coming to a data center near you very soon” , a story by Keumr Afifi-Sabet.  Then I checked the time it had been posted; it was today October 7, 2023.  I read the article and I have to comment on it on my blog. In short, the article predicts companies having quantum computers mounted on their data store racks in 2024.  If you haven’t noticed, we are in October and we are only three months away from the new year.  This is

09/16/2023 - Update

Hello Quantum Computer Enthusiasts,   I have not forgotten about the blog. I am pursuing my other love of education, computers, and computer networking. Currently I am still working at Alfred State College as an Instructional Support Associate. But I am also working in a second role of adjunct Instructor for Alfred State College. Then on top of that I got an opportunity to teach at a University in Minnesota. I am now teaching Bachelor level and Master level students at Minnesota State University Mankato. Yes, the Minnesota job is online, but attendance has been great.   Now back to the blog. I still have a major interest in Quantum Computing. I still believe technology is going to help mankind reach for the stars.  Ok I might be a bit dramatic, but I do not think it is off base with the idea.   Companies are pouring huge amounts of money into research, bringing this technology to the fore.  There are companies that have gone with public investment opportunities through NASDAQ,

As one of the youtubers my family follows would say, “Hello all you beautiful people.”  I know it has been a while since I posted. I am hoping you came back and was happy to find that I posted something.   I am following my day job and I am finishing getting set up for this semester's classes that I am teaching. I was going to wait till I could do a deep dive on one of the Quantum Computing topics. I believe that might be too long till I can do that.    Microsoft Bing came to the rescue. I opened “Edge” to get started on the day’s work and there was an article on Quantum Computing. An article that proves my point, that our current group of students, no matter what level, will be the ones bringing Quantum Computing to all of our lives one way or another.   Check the article by clicking here Will quantum computing emerge as a disruptive in the near future? Discover Quantum Computing investment opportunities.      In short, the article mentions companies that are investing i

Hello My Blog Followers, Just so you know, my passion for learning about Quantum Computers is still alive and well.  I am just busy getting my classes ready for start up.  The two Universities this year are  Alfred State and Minnesota State University Mankato. Today’s big news, Alfred State did a write up on the STEM conference where all of this Blog idea got started. I thought this would be a good thing to post. Alfred State Write Up I know Alfred State posted the write up in neighboring newspapers as well.  I found that information out when one of my neighbors came to our door with an article in hand.   I swear I will get more in depth with Quantum Computers as the time passes.  I will even expand to Microcomputing and Networking.  Quantum Networking also intrigues me.  Industry already has Quantum Networking.  At this stage, I am assuming it is with super conductors but I am not sure without further research.  I am intrigued with the possibilities of Quantum Entanglement on the Qu

The weekend is here.  The next academic year is about ready to start.  I am constructing and planning two classes so it is “time to make the doughnuts”.  (If you are unfamiliar with the reference, click here for YouTube video ) I am going to make this brief and to the point.  The push to bring Quantum Technology to the colleges has already started.  I will provide the link and you can do your own research.  The one that hits closest to home is RPI.   RPI (Rensselaer PolyTechnic Institute) now has a Quantum Computer on campus provided by IBM . Other Schools: University of Waterloo University Article from Microsoft talking about University of Washington . M.I.T and Quantum Computing Caltech Thank you for being patient as the school season is starting. Please come again.   “I will leave the Blog on for you”
